Applications are now open for the next round of the Aviva Community Fund until 5 October
Funding is available for fresh ideas looking to secure up to £50,000. Every three months, £250,000 will be shared equally among their UK employees to donate to the forward-thinking projects that matter to them most. Each charity can apply for funding of up to a maximum of £50,000 and Aviva employees will decide how the funding is distributed. Eligible causes will be able to submit their projects to the Aviva Community Fund through Crowdfunder. Funding applications are open to projects looking to raise up to £50,000.
They want to support forward-thinking causes that are helping push communities forward, so your submitted project must align with one of their purposes and be raising funds in the following key areas:
Funding areas
Develop a new approach, product, or technology
Implement a new initiative or pilot a new scheme
Expand existing services to a new area or beneficiary group
Adapt services to meet today's needs without compromising those of future generations
Purposes
Building back better: helping society to bounce back from the pandemic by addressing the health and wellbeing, and economic impacts on communities and individuals
Climate champions: helping communities to prevent, prepare for, and protect against the impacts of climate change
Financial empowerment: supporting financial inclusion and giving people the tools to become more financially resilient and independent
To be eligible your organisation must:
be a UK registered charity or social enterprise
be based in the UK
have existed for at least 12 months at the time of submission
have an annual income of no more than £1,000,000 (can be averaged over the last three years)
have a bank account in its own name
have a safeguarding policy if it supports children or vulnerable people
be a living wage employee (if the organisation employs people)
have an active board of trustees or directors or management body.
To submit a project, you must be:
age 18 or older
a UK resident
using a UK IP address and not use a disposable email address.
Submit your projects online and use the Crowdfunder platform to promote your project to your network of supporters to raise public funds. The project will then go live to Aviva employees to vote for projects.

The Hedley Foundation is an endowed grant-giving charitable foundation that supports small to medium-sized UK registered charities operating across the spectrum of social needs. Grants are available from £250 - £5,000 plus.
The Trustees seek to help and improve the quality of life of people in the UK, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds. This is achieved by making grants, within budget, to registered charities for the benefit of young people, disabled people, elderly people, the terminally ill and otherwise disadvantaged people, and their carers.
They award grants to those charities that are able to demonstrate quantifiable outcomes to beneficiaries. Typically, grants of up to £5,000 are regularly made and occasional larger sums are given to charities where high impact can be achieved. Similarly, smaller charities often benefit from smaller grants of £250 upwards.
You should meet the following criteria:
You are a small- to mid-size UK registered charity
Your application is not for salaries, building construction, general running costs, transport, financial deficits, or overseas projects
Your application is not on behalf of a church, museum, an individual, or an exclusive group of people
You have not received a previous grant from The Foundation within the last 18 months.
The following categories of funding are supported by The Foundation:
Youth Support
Projects which raise the aspirations or help to realise the full potential of disadvantaged young people. Typically, grants are made to broaden the horizons of young people through sport, adventurous activities, education, the arts, training, or sustainable employment. These might include youth engagement initiatives that help counter anti-social behaviours within their communities and activities that help to keep young people away from the Criminal Justice System.
Disabled Support
Projects to improve the quality of life of people of all ages with physical and mental disabilities, sensory impairment, and learning difficulties.
Supporting the Elderly and Terminally Ill
Projects to help elderly people to maintain a level of independence and projects to support those in the closing stage of life, in hospices or hospitals.
Miscellaneous Support
Projects to support carers, homeless people, ex-offenders, and those about to leave custody.

Grants for Good invites local charities, voluntary groups or social enterprises that have an average annual income of less than £50,000 to apply to them for funding.
Every three months, the Foundation will share £10,000 between 5 shortlisted projects that have a positive impact on communities, people or the environment.
To stay true to their ethos of donating funds to causes close to the hearts of our members, every three months, five shortlisted projects will be voted for by John Good Group employees. These five charities will all receive a share of £10,000 – the more votes a cause receives, the bigger the donation. Following the vote, the project that receives the most votes will receive a grant of £3,500, second place £2,500, third place £2,000 and fourth and fifth place will both receive £1,000.
Your application must be on behalf of a local community group, charity, voluntary group or social enterprise that has a positive impact on communities, people or the environment and has an average income of less than £50,000 in the last 12 months.
They want to make it easy for very small charities or new community interest companies to apply, so organisations/groups do not need to be a registered charity, however, you will need to have a bank account in your organisation’s/project’s name such as a community bank account. They are not able to provide funding to personal bank accounts.
Funding is available for a minimum of 18 months to a maximum of 30 months.
We will fund investments from £100,000-£300,000
We believe that every person has the right to good mental wellbeing and support. We also believe in the power of humour and the potential for the arts and comedy to help bring about positive change for individuals and communities. We want to reduce the stigma and reinforce the importance of looking after our mental wellbeing, by supporting people to seek help at an early stage.
The Smiles Fund by Walkers and Comic Relief is inviting proposals which use participation in the arts and comedy to challenge stigma and provide community-based support for people who are experiencing emerging symptoms of poor mental wellbeing at an early stage. Research during the Covid-19 pandemic shows that some groups have been the worst affected in terms of mental wellbeing and we are particularly keen to reach them as the effects of the pandemic continue to be felt. This includes, but is not limited to, people facing
discrimination and disadvantage
prolonged uncertainty and unemployment
emerging mental wellbeing challenges
loss and isolation

Apply for a grant of up to £10,000 over one year, for projects that are addressing rural community resilience and ensuring their village’s future viability and “thrivability”.
Successful projects will do one or more of the following:
Protect or boost community assets and enterprises.

Strengthen the sense of community, therefore tackling isolation in the countryside.

Derry City and Strabane District Council, in partnership with the District Sports Forum, welcomes applications for funding under its grant-aid programme, to support voluntary sports clubs within the Derry City and Strabane District Council area.
Support for Sport is a small grants programme primarily aimed at grassroots sports. The programme aims to prioritise investment in sports clubs, especially those based in areas of greatest need that will deliver demonstrable increases in sports participation amongst identified target groups.

Migrant Centre NI has launched its Global Majority Fund which aims to help diverse communities disproportionately impacted by Covid-19.
Expressions of Interest are sought from groups and organisations led by communities experiencing racial inequality or, in other words, BAME-led community groups working in Northern Ireland.
The deadline for applications is Wednesday, 15th September 2021 at 5pm (GMT).

12 Programming for older people across the DCSDC area during autumn

Rural Community Network are pleased to announce an investment of £35,000 for a new project working across rural NI called "100 Years of Change - Rural Shared History Programme"
The project is part of the Shared History Fund, which the National Lottery Heritage Fund is delivering on behalf of the Northern Ireland Office, to help groups mark the centenary of the creation of the state of Northern Ireland in a thoughtful, inclusive and engaging way.

The BFI Film Academy helps to train and inspire the next generation of filmmakers, supporting young people aged 16 to 19 to develop the commercial and cultural knowledge and skills to help make a career in film.
BFI Film Academy offers young people passionate about film a chance to learn together, working in production teams to create short films in an industry led environment. BFI Film Academy courses are supported by the Department for Education in England, the National Lottery, Screen Scotland and Northern Ireland Screen.
Masterclasses with industry professionals during the course offer insight into careers and the working life of the Screen Industries.
Previous masterclass speakers include cinematographer Seamus McGarvey (Avengers Assemble, Atonement) directors Danny Boyle (Trainspotting, Slumdog Millionaire), Andrea Arnold (American Honey), Andrew Eaton (Rush, 24 Hour Party People), Ivanna MacKinnion (Slumdog Millionaire), Chris Martin (Good Vibrations) and Writers Glen Leyburn, Lisa Barros D’Sa (Good Vibrations).
BFI Film Academy Alumni go on to work and train in the screen industries with previous participants working in the fields of directing and producing, VFX, animation and sound design. Alumni join the growing BFI Film Academy network supporting young people up to the age of 25 with access to talent labs, Industry masterclasses and networking events.
The course is an accredited NCFE level 2 Preparing to Work in the Film Industry qualification. This qualification has been driven by the needs of industry and education partners.
In 2021 to 2022 the BFI Film Academy will deliver in line with government guidelines on social distancing and will involve face to face and online delivery.

be aged 16 to 19-years-old on the first day of the course

have a passion or talent for filmmaking and an ambition to work in the film industry
be able to commit to the duration of the course

The course is open to young people from anywhere in Northern Ireland with BFI Film Academies based in Derry-Londonderry, Belfast and Armagh. No academic education or degree is necessary and the Nerve Centre welcomes applications from underrepresented groups and intersectionality across ethnicity, gender, sexuality, age, disability, religion, and socio-economic circumstances. The Child Maintenance Service (CMS) is committed to continuing to improve the current child maintenance scheme to make it fairer and more affordable for both parents.
We would like to engage with stakeholders with the aim of hearing your views on the existing child maintenance policy and legislation as well as exploring areas for possible improvement.
