About Us

The North West Community Network is an independent alliance of community and voluntary organisations. It provides a focus for the diverse cultures, beliefs, ideas and activities of local people and for the community and voluntary organisations addressing their needs.

The Network is committed to societal change by fostering the underlying principles of community development and creating a fully inclusive and participative democracy. It has built a reputation as an organisation which makes social and economic policy understandable and meaningful to groups and which can draw together the diverse ideas within the Sector in the North-West to form a coherent response to Government and its agencies.

The North-West Community Network was established in November 1994 following a series of meetings of community and voluntary organisations throughout the North-West region of Derry, Londonderry, Strabane, Limavady and Donegal.

The Executive Committee is elected at the Annual General Meeting to manage and co-ordinate the Networks activities and development. Membership of the Executive Committee is for a maximum period of 3 years.

The North-West Community Network draws its membership from all traditions and cultures irrespective of ethnic background, religious denomination or political affiliation.
