You do not have to have a constitution to apply to this fund.
We want to support smaller, grassroots organisations delivering great work.
Community Investments available: Up to £2,000
Priorities:
Financial wellbeing, physical wellbeing and mental wellbeing.
Focus on the positive contribution of people within the community.
Enable active participation of a community in decision-making and involvement in making their community a better place to live in.
Focus on the assets within the community which the project will use to make the community a better place to live in.
Help get people engaged in taking community action where it hasn’t happened before to make the community a better place to live in.
Projects that address more than one particular strand of well being.
The Creative Communities on a Shared Island initiative seeks to build on the experience and expertise of local authorities’ existing strategic north-south and east-west (Ireland-Britain) ambitions and transform them into a collaborative network across the island of Ireland. It intends to recognise and utilise the inherent creativity of all who live on the island of Ireland.
A total of €2.25 million will be provided under the fund and it is envisaged that the following amounts will be allocated:
Strand 1 : 4 x €250,000 (At least 1 grant will be awarded to a partnership specific to the border region)
3 Community and Voluntary Sector Infrastructure Support
The Department for Communities is inviting you to join us in a virtual event on Thursday 29th June from 14:00 – 15:30 to find out what we heard through our first stage of engagement.
The Department is carrying out a programme of work aimed at refreshing the policy frameworks for our voluntary and community sector support. This includes agreeing with our partners on the outcomes that we should prioritise in future years. This review of sectoral needs will inform how we can better support the sector to deliver outcomes set out in any future Programme for Government.
We have engaged with a wide range of organisations in the sector, including those supported through our existing funding programmes as well as those that are not. We have also involved other departments, local government and independent funders. We are also working with a Reference Group comprising a range of sectoral interests, through which we are drawing on lived experience, expertise and knowledge, and together explore a range of insights and ideas in the design of new approaches.

6 Liberation from Patriarchy - 5 week women's programme
Re-imagining human relationships in a peaceful society
An engagement programme, supporting women to explore together, the root causes of patriarchy, gender inequalities and the power dynamics informing women's lived experiences today; with a view to cultivating women's voices and leadership in a re-imagined peaceful society.
This programme seeks to make the connections between gender justice and peacebuilding, integrating holistic methodologies.

We’re looking for representatives originating from a Protestant/Unionist background to interview about their day-to-day interactions and memories of the past. The purpose of this research is to gain a better understanding of how people in the community live their daily lives post-conflict.
Interviews will last for no more than one hour and will look at how comfortable/uncomfortable people feel in different interactions depending on who they’re with, where they take place, and when they take place. Following this, participants are being given an exciting opportunity to represent the community via taking photographs across Derry that will be published in an exhibition.
Challenging Health Outcomes - Integrating Care Environments a consortium to tackle health disparities for people living with mental illness
The CHOICE project was funded as part of the second phase of the £26 million, UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) Mobilising Community Assets to Tackle Health Inequalities Investment. CHOICE was the only project in Northern Ireland (NI) to get an award.
CHOICE is building a network of people and organisations – a community coalition – to tackle the issues of social exclusion and poor physical health among people living with severe and enduring mental health problems. This requires a whole-systems approach that engages key public, private and voluntary stakeholders while placing people living with mental health illness at the centre of co-design activities and ideas.
We use participatory and arts-based activities to assist this programme. Working closely with all the relevant stakeholders we are developing an action plan to improve the health and wellbeing of people with mental health problems.

This year’s survey focuses on several areas including health, employment and finances. Your responses will enable us to be more focused in our work and to communicate to decision makers what really matters to you.
This survey is the most extensive survey into carers’ experiences in the UK, so it may take around 20-30 minutes to complete.
The more information you give us, the better we can build a comprehensive picture of how caring affects different people. We are really keen to hear about your experiences – good or bad – in as much detail as possible as this helps us understand what it is like to be a carer in 2023.

11 Physical Activity, Wellbeing & Sport Strategy 2023-2028
Sport and being active is a big part of people’s lives in Derry City and Strabane. There are around 180 sports clubs with in excess of 22,000 participants or about 15% of the entire population.
Yet health inequalities are higher in Derry City and Strabane than for Northern Ireland as a whole, especially for people living in the most deprived areas, both urban and rural. The population is getting older; it’s projected that by 2039 the Council area will have nearly 4,000 fewer children under the age of 16 and 14,000 more retired adults.
Echo Echo Dance Theatre Company has a two week company development workshop in the last two weeks of August 2023 - from 21st August to 1st September.
We have colleagues coming from Ireland and Europe. We are still looking for places for some of them to stay.
We've made this two-week project free and by invitation only for experienced and close colleagues of the company as we know that many professional dance artists are rarely in a position to access professional development training where it means they must pay for a course, travel and accommodation.
We are hoping that this project will lead to strengthened connections between Echo Echo and our colleagues in Ireland and beyond.

NINIS hosts statistics (databases), area profiles, interactive content and static maps. Work is underway to ensure that, once NINIS is no longer available, alternative arrangements are in place so, that as far as possible users still have access to this information. A redirect page will be available that sets out these arrangements and includes interactive lookup tables that provide links to the new locations.
As detailed in previous news stories, the statistics element (database) of NINIS will be replaced with a new system – The NISRA Data Portal. Over the last few months, the Data Portal has been populated with various NINIS datasets. Training materials (NISRA Data Portal user guide, instructional video and FAQ section) have been published to help you navigate and use the new system (linked in the footer of the portal).
