We are also in with the chance of winning £2000. Please support our project by taking a minute to VOTE FOR US. Voting takes place from 21st July to 8th August. The winners will be announced on a special BBC 1 programme to be shown later this summer. The Young Father's Project is aimed at supporting the needs of young fathers or father figures, aged 14-25, and their families. The project comprises a planned and structured father's service, aimed at improving and enhancing the relationship between fathers and their children. A young dad, aged 22, said: ‘It’s tough being a Dad, but being with the project for a year now has helped my confidence and self-esteem most of all. I know how I want things to be with my kid and the staff has supported me with this. Through the Fatherhood programme my parenting skills have got better and staff have acted as mediators between the kid’s mum and me which has made a big difference. I’ve grown up a lot, even in the last 6 months and my life is much better, but most important of all, things are now better for the wee one.” Your vote helps us to continue making a difference to young fathers and to their families. If you know a young father who would like to avail of our services please contact either Fiona or Sharon on 028 71 348728 or email youngfathersproject@first-housing.com |

For Arts Organisations with Information Officers
Working in information, want
to network? The information role is a vital one in the voluntary and
community sector, but it is often carried out by just one person in an
organisation, who is often too busy ‘doing’ to network and exchange ideas
with people in other organisations. Would you welcome an opportunity
to meet fellow information professionals? The Association of Information
Managers (AIM) is a network of information colleagues responsible for
maintaining 'specialist' information services in the public, voluntary or
private sector, and is a sub-panel of the Library and Information Services
Council (LISC), the representative body for library and information work
in Northern Ireland. |

On behalf of the Chinese Welfare Association, Sai Pak Derry Branch and the Management Committee would like to thank you for your generous donations in supporting our Sichuan Earthquake Appeal events. As you know, Chinese communities across Northern Ireland with the wider communities have been supporting the work of the Chinese Embassy in the UK and the Red Cross Society of China to send relief to China. All three fundraising events in Derry were a great success. Thanks to financial support from citizens like you, we are moving closer to our mission of raising funds to assist affected people in China so that local relief workers can carry out planning for rehabilitation, which will benefit over one million people. Your generous donations will help contribute toward appropriate assistance to the Sichuan Earthquake victims. We have raised over £15,000 and the amount will be donated to British Red Cross and China Embassy. We would not have made this possible without you. Thanks again for your support!
