Legacy of the Troubles Research Project
Researchers from the departments of Psychology at the University of Limerick and Queens University Belfast are conducting a major research project entitled “The Legacy of the Troubles”.
The study is investigating the experience people have had of the troubles in Northern Ireland and the border counties of the Republic. It looks at how the troubles have influenced people's lives and their views of the community to which they belong and the ‘other’ community.
One core area of the research involves interviews with individuals with differing levels of experience of the troubles. The interviewers ask questions about living in Northern Ireland and the border counties during the troubles and about the ways that people coped with the stresses from those times up to the current day. It you know anybody who would be interested in taking part in these interviews, which should last about an hour, please contact Alison Jeffrey in the School of Psychology, Queen's University Belfast:
