BT, in partnership with the UK Youth Parliament, organise the Seen and Heard Awards as part of the Better World Campaign, which aims to provide young people with the skills and opportunities to effect real social change. The purpose of Seen and Heard is to recognise and reward the achievements of young people who have made a real difference to their own lives and the lives of others and used their communication skills to tackle an issue that's important to them. The scheme also recognises adults who have listened to and acted upon the voices of young people and made a positive difference to young people's lives. Whether it was contributing to a magazine, defending the rights of young carers, or giving a voice to children on the streets – if you or someone you know has used their speaking and listening skills to achieve something positive, BT want to hear about it.
Entering the awards is easy. If you're a young person, just tell BT a little about what you have achieved by answering the questions on the entry form. To nominate an adult or organisation that has helped you to be Seen and Heard, simply follow the instructions on the website. www.btbetterworld.com/giving_young_people_a_voice/seen_and_heard_awards Alternatively you can find out more by emailing : seenandheard@bt.com The closing date for entries is 6 November 2009. |
