Understanding Health Improvement

The next date for the above mentioned course is Wednesday 17th September at the Lisburn Civic Centre.  This one day programme equips staff to motivate and support individuals both within the workplace and outside - a proactive, rather than reactive attitude towards reducing absenteeism, by adopting a healthier lifestyle and providing focused knowledge and understanding of the benefits of good health and barriers to making change.  There is an end-of-day 45 minute assessment. The feedback from previous courses has been excellent.  To date, Beth Gibb Associates is the sole registered centre in Northern Ireland and due to Beth's qualifications, RIPH have allowed inclusion of a stress module. It’s all about promoting good health and you can be part of it.  A comprehensive resource file is also provided for participants to signpost to resources for use within their organisation. Suitable for all levels of staff, no pre-course entry requirements & numbers limited per course to enhance learning.

Due to a cancellation of places a 50% reduction in the fee for the course is being offered i.e. £75 due to the short notice. Please see attachment for further information and booking form.

‘On the Buses’ with BBC NI

The bus is a dynamic project from BBC NI that has been on the road since 2003. One of the main aims of the bus is to bring the BBC closer to where you live. The bus team have a wide range of skills and would like to hear from you if your organisation is interested in video or radio production training.  They also have an extensive knowledge of BBC services and technologies and can advise the public on developments in new media and the broadcast industry such as digital switchover.
The team are also interested in recording your feedback on any BBC NI TV show or Radio Ulster programme.  If you have a story to tell, they would like to hear it and it could end up being featured on the BBC bus website or one of the Radio Ulster or Radio Foyle programmes.  They want to know how you feel about issues that affect you and your community and are looking for community groups to visit in 2008.
For further details contact the bus team on T: 028 9033 8844, E: communitybus@bbc.co.uk, click bbc.co.uk/ni/communitybus or visit Ceefax page 177.
