Grantsnet - free grants information site


Grantsnet, the free grants information site, has overhauled its search facility. The site offers grant information for charities / voluntary organisations and not-for-profit organisations at no charge and without any requirement to register. The service, which covers
England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales, is run by a team of volunteers. The site's advanced search function now enables users to search by region and by activity, and allows users to sign up for e-mail updates of new grant information that matches your interest.

Win Grant Tracker for one year with NICVA

 

NICVA is offering GrantTracker free for a year to one lucky organisation or person who creates a profile and signs up to the Fundraising Information Group on www.communityni.org.

GrantTracker provides subscribers with access to a database of hundreds of funding opportunities. Features like MyTracker enable users to create their own funding directory online.

The Fundraising Information Group is an online forum to talk with other fundraisers, discuss fundraising issues, ask questions, view events and access publications. It is entirely free to join.

To be in with a chance of winning the year's subscription you must have created a profile for yourself or your organisation, preferably add a picture and then join the fundraising information group by the end of

29 September 2009.

A draw will take place on 30 September 2009. All people who are members of the Fundraising Information Group at the time will be eligible for the draw.

Arts Council Project Funding reopens


The Arts Council's Project Funding programme opens for application on 24th August
- 24th September 2009. The aim of this Arts Council funding programme is to assist organisations to deliver arts projects which contribute to the growth of arts in the community for new and existing audiences and which reflect the diversity of Northern Ireland's society and culture.

Winston Churchill Memorial Trust open for 2010 applications


Would experience overseas enhance your effectiveness in your career or field of interest?
Could this bring real benefits and positive change to your community, the
UK and yourself?
Each year Winston Churchill Memorial Trust offers opportunities for British Citizens to travel overseas to undertake study projects related to their trade, profession or particular interest.
Projects covered include education and vocational training, arts and older people, youth arts and support for children.
Travel and living expenses are all paid and in 2008, the average grant was 5,300 to cover an overseas visit of

4-6 weeks (4 minimum). Full details of the Trust and eligibility can be found at www.wcmt.org.uk
For 2010 applications are open until
6th October 2009, followed by a selection and interview process.

UnLtd 4iP award scheme

 

The UnLtd 4iP scheme will be giving awards of up to 5,000 to help individuals from across the UK to turn their digital media project into a reality. 4iP will share its expertise in digital media and UnLtd will provide dedicated support including training opportunities, mentoring and access to resources to help individuals develop their skills and their projects.

The programme will operate across the whole of the UK including England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

 

Criteria; Does your project:

Challenge people to see the world differently; Inspire change and empower communities; Revolve around the participation and collaboration of users; and Use digital media in an innovative and original way to solve an important user need?

Projects that demonstrate participation and collaboration get their users to do something, rather than passively consume stuff. That could be through a service, website, tool, game or application.

 

Awards are allocated to individuals: Over the age of 16, Living in England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland

The deadline for UnLtd 4iP awards is always the second last Friday of every month.

Building Change Trust consultation session at CAF


On
5th November 2008, the Big Lottery Fund (BIG) announced details of the Building Change Trust a 10 year, 10 million investment that will help develop and shape the future of Northern Ireland's community and voluntary sector.
The objectives of the Trust are to make awards for charitable purposes, in the context of the changing environment impacting on the community and voluntary sector, for: Community development;
Development of the community and voluntary sector and charities; Citizenship development.
To help the Trust develop a detailed strategy and to enable the sector to find out more about them the Trust are working with regional support organisations to plan a number of consultation events across Northern Ireland. CAF will host one such consultation session at the CAF office on Tuesday 29th September.
The Trust is keen to listen to you to find out what you think your organisation could be supported to do to respond to the current and future challenges. This in turn will help inform the Trust as to how resources might be used most effectively to assist the community and voluntary sector.

Health & Well Being Indicators Training

 

Western Investing For Health (WIFH) is hosting a further range of training courses on using the health and well being indicators site. The training is free and delivered in conjunction with NINIS/NISRA and open to anyone from the community or statutory sector.

The Sperrin Walking Festival

The Sperrin Walking Festival is coming to Gortin this year from the 7th - 9th August. There will be a wide range of walks to suit all fitness levels and qualified walking instructors will be taking groups out on the walks. For more information contact Elaine at info@sperrinstourism.com. Gortin will be alive that weekend with entertainment planned in most of the bars around the village. Sunday evening will end with a grand finale at the community centre where there will be bouncing castle, BBQ, Live traditional Irish session and a drinks bar. Come and enjoy the fun.
