Breast
Cancer in Men - Men's Hockey help raise awareness of men's
health Foyle Hockey
Club help raise awareness of men's health. Players from
Foyle men's hockey club have had fun and enjoyable reactions from
supporters they meet as they sport their new moustaches during the month
of "Movember". This is
to help raise charitable funds for sufferers of disease which affect
men. More often than not men
will not access healthcare services for the simple fear of 'maybe
receiving bad news'. This
attitude alone could be the most significant killer, rather than the early
diagnosis and intervention of the disease.
No subject
around health should be taboo in today's society, except taboo
itself.
The funds
raised so far totalled over £100 for this their first effort and they look
forward to next time when additional players should help them raise even
more. More importantly are
the messages from such a campaign and one such statistic is this; 1
percent of all breast cancer in GB + Healthy body
healthy mind and all that, Foyle Hockey men train on Thursdays at 8.30pm

The Star to the Celtic Garden Christmas Trail at the IOSAS
Centre This year the
Each little
house in the garden will have its own Christmas theme and, in the
tradition of the great Irish storytellers, will have characters telling
the Christian stories behind some of our favourite Christmas traditions.
These include the story of St Nicholas, the Christmas Tree Miracle and of
course the greatest story ever told, the birth of
Jesus. The tranquil
setting will be an oasis for families looking to escape the commercialism,
hustle and bustle which can dominate this time of year. Take some
time together to enjoy an experience which will have the children
discussing the real Christmas story long after this
event. This year
capture the excitement of the season and combine it with the true spirit
of the Christmas message. The Celtic
