Apex Housing, just off The Diamond, Derry~ These FREE
sessions are available on a first-come-first-served basis: 9:00;

skill that leaves them better placed to navigate the funding landscape and
enhance the sustainability of their services. Please
also note that Grant Tracker is available for use at the Network offices
by appointment. To book your
slot, contact: Georgie Finlay – georgie.finlay@nicva.org / 028
9087 7777 Please
indicate whether you are seeking a one-hour advice slot OR to attend the
Grant Tracker demonstration OR both (depending on demand).
If booking for
a one-hour advice slot, you are asked to come prepared with a real-time
example of your funding situation. This could involve a pending/live
application, or maybe one that has not been successful; or the makings of
an application that you feel could be further developed to improve its
chances of success. For further

Call
for nominations for Women of the Year 2012 Derry City
Council is calling for nominations for this year’s Women of the Year
awards, which are scheduled to take place in the City Hotel on March
9th.
Joanna Boyd,
the Council’s Women Officer explained that last year’s inaugural event was
a huge success. She explained: “The awards are aimed at acknowledging the
pivotal role women play in shaping our society. With eleven categories every
effort has been made to ensure that all possible opportunities for
recognition have been identified.
“I hope that
members of the public take the opportunity to use these awards to
recognise someone they feel has made an invaluable contribution to the
city. The Council feels it’s
important to recognise women who make such a wonderful contribution to our
local community. It’s an
opportunity to say thank you and well done to the many women whose
dedication and hard work continue unrecognised. I would encourage the
public to assist us by getting their nominations into us as soon as
possible so we can begin the difficult task of short listing
candidates.” This year’s
awards ceremony features awards in the following categories: Contribution
to Women’s Community Development Contribution
to Community Relations Contribution
to Health Contribution
to Sport or Dance Contribution
to dealing with Abuse against Women Contribution

Want
the chance to have your say on TV? The BBC
Northern Ireland topical debate programme, 'Spotlight Special' is back on
Tuesday 21st
February Presented by Mark Carruthers, the programme could be
your chance to put a question or comment to a panel of politicians, on
issues affecting our day to day lives. It's a
Question & Answer format, so with questions & comments coming from
the studio audience, audience participation is at the heart of a
successful and dynamic programme. We are especially looking for people who
have something to say, are opinionated, are interested in the news,
politics in NI and the issues that affect their day to day lives; etc…
Those who think they'd have something to say to add to the debate.
The programme
is pre-recorded on the night and in terms of time, it's from 18.30 to
about 21.15 and the programme broadcasts later the same
night." The recording
will take place in Black Staff Studios in We would need
to speak to those interested before the programme so that we can get some
details from them and also to get an insight into the topical issues that
they are interested in. We would also stress that audience members are
required to attend as individuals and not as members of any organisation
or group. |
