Strabane
& Lifford LGBT Inclusion Project Strabane &
Lifford LGBT (Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Transgender) Group have completed
one year of its Inclusion Project. The Inclusion
Project was established to address the isolation experienced by many LGBT
in the Strabane and Lifford area and to provide a safe space where LGBT
could meet and discuss activities that would promote health and feelings
of safety and well being. As part of a
review of the project we are hosting two visioning days where the Project
Manager of the group can meet to discuss the way forward for the
project. Your thoughts and opinions are of vital importance in this
process. The dates
arranged are the 6th and 13th of
August 2011. Both days are Saturdays and the venue is
Strabane Library Room 2. Each
day will run from 10am until 1pm finishing with lunch on both
days. Some questions
I would like you to think about before the day
are: - What do you
feel/think are the Strengths and weakness of the Service? (These should be
internally focused) - What do you
feel/think are the Opportunities and Threats? (These come from external
factors) - What do you
feel or think the Group exists to do as a
Service? - What are
your hopes and aspirations for the Service in five years’
time? - What do you
feel/think would be the guiding values of the
organisation? I am not
asking for answers to all these questions nor am I asking you to answer
them now but please take some time to think about these before the
day. Your suggestions and thoughts will be taken onboard on the
days. If you cannot
make the days I would really appreciate if you could email me some
responses to these questions. Please RSVP to
Gina Gallagher for catering purposes. If you have any special
dietary requirements please do not hesitate to inform
me. Email: gina@strabaneliffordlgbt.net Telephone: 02871885857 Or Post: 60
Railway Street, Strabane, Co. Tyrone Please feel
free to bring along a friend. If you have
difficulty attending due to travel arrangements etc. please do not
hesitate to contact me so that travel can be arranged. We hold a

Colin Gates,
Assistant Warden and event organiser said: “This energetic sport is very
popular and gets people literally into the bog. Competitors have to swim
up to two lengths of a 60-yard bog drain with the aid of a snorkel, mask
and flippers and without using any conventional swimming strokes. Anyone
over the age of 12 can have a go. It’s brilliant craic!”
