Subject: Consultations - Week Commencing 16 June 2008

Northern Ireland Consultations:

Week Commencing:  16 June 2008

North-West Community Network is committed to facilitating and promoting engagement with the Community & Voluntary sector in the North-West on the policy issues that affect it.

If you feel the sector should respond collectively to any of these consultations, please communicate this to us - not all consultation/policy issues can be responded to, however, given the sheer volume of documents that are issued.

Alternative formats of the documents referred to below are usually available to download from the relevant websites or by contacting the department/lead person involved.

Departmental consultations should, under good practice guidelines, afford twelve weeks for response - if you have any concerns over deadlines please do not hesitate to raise these with the named contact.

Some government departments have begun identifying in advance which policies will be open for consultation - it is to be hoped that this approach will eventually disseminate across all departments and other statutory bodies.

As it stands, the website www.consultationni.gov.uk, should carry the same details as given below – while this is not always the case, it is certainly worth accessing this site on a regular basis to get updates on what items of public policy are currently being consulted on.
